Bad feelings about currentness
- Binaries split across

Guiding Principles:
- Programs are sandboxed by default (you should have full confidence to run unknown programs) (but scripting and stuff still works with explicit permissions)
- Compiled apps should be portable
- Apps should also be flexible to building on different apps (without autoconf duplication of probing)

Ideas:
- Split between system packages and user packages
  - Dynamic linking could be reserved for system packages (probably, maybe it's simpler to just use static linking)
  - User apps are packages are directories with resources and local storage, sandbox
- Dynamically linked apps dependencies can be detected by their soname, and be downloaded by the package manager (similar to windows with their libc's)
